We just wanted a really good sofa
In 2019 two friends spent six months looking for a sofa that was deep, soft, well made and didn't cost a month's rent. They didn't find one, so they designed it. Hush & Rest grew from there: a sofa, then a bed to match, then a mattress to go on it.
Comfort you can explain
"Comfortable" is easy to promise and hard to prove, so we try to be specific. Our seats are 60 cm deep because that is where most people can tuck their feet up. Our mattresses come in three firmnesses because one never suits everyone.
And because a showroom lie-down only tells you so much, everything comes with 100 nights to decide at home.

Designed to be used
We test every design for a year in our own homes before it goes on sale. If it isn't comfortable at 11pm on a Tuesday, it doesn't make the cut.

Made close to home
Sofas and upholstered beds are built in our partner workshop in Leicester. Oak beds are made by a family joinery in the Cotswolds.

Built to be repaired
Covers zip off, legs unscrew and cushions can be refilled. We sell every part separately, so a spilled glass of wine never means a new sofa.
- 100-night trial Sleep on it or live with it for 100 nights. If it isn't right, we collect it for free.
- 10-year guarantee Frames, springs and foams are covered for ten years against defects.
- Delivered in 2 weeks Free delivery to your room of choice, and we take the packaging away.
The showroom
Lie down before you decide
Every sofa, bed and mattress is on the floor in Islington. Stay as long as you like, bring a book, and lie on both mattresses in every firmness.
