Handmade ceramic vases

Every vase here started as a ball of stoneware clay on our wheel in Bristol. We throw them a little thicker than most, so they feel weighty in the hand and stand steady with a single tall stem. Glazes are mixed in the studio from simple recipes: chalk, sand and iron-rich earth tones that sit quietly on a shelf and let the flowers do the talking. Because each piece is thrown and fired by hand, sizes and glaze patterns vary slightly; that variation is the point. All our vases are watertight and safe for fresh flowers.
