A lamp maker and a weaver share a room
Lumen & Loom started in 2016 in a shared workshop near the Antwerp docks: one side full of brass tubes and glass, the other a loom. Customers who came for a lamp kept leaving with a rug, so we made it official.
Why light and rugs?
They are the two things that change how a room feels at night more than any piece of furniture. A good lamp makes a corner somewhere you want to sit, and a good rug makes it quiet.
Both are also easy to get wrong in a photo, which is why our showroom is kept dim, and why you can zoom into every rug on this site.
How we work

Light before looks
We design every shade around the light it throws: warm 2,700 K bulbs, no bare glare at eye level, and dimmable fittings as standard.

Woven by hand
Our rugs are hand-knotted and handwoven by two family workshops we have worked with since the start, from undyed and plant-dyed wool.
- 03
Made to be mended
Shades, cables and fittings are all sold separately, and every rug can come back to us to be washed or repaired.
- Free delivery in Benelux Lamps arrive in 3–5 days, rugs in 1–2 weeks, carried to your door.
- 30-day returns Live with it for a month. If it doesn't feel right, send it back for a full refund.
- 5-year warranty On every lamp's wiring and fittings, and on every rug's weave.
The showroom
See it lit, feel it underfoot
Every lamp hangs switched on in our Kloosterstraat showroom, and every rug is laid out to walk on barefoot. Bring a photo of your room and we will help you choose.
