Atelier Maison Interior design studio in Lyon
The studio

Small on purpose, Lyonnais by choice

A designer's hand fanning out colour swatches over blueprints

Atelier Maison was founded in 2014 by Claire Moreau, an architect who spent ten years restoring old buildings before deciding she preferred the people who live in them.

Today we are four designers sharing a studio on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse. We take on around twelve projects a year, so each one has a designer from the first visit to the last cushion.

We work with a small circle of local craftspeople: joiners, plasterers, tilers and metalworkers who have been with us for years and who care about the details as much as we do.

What we believe

  1. Keep what is good

Old parquet, stone walls, cornices and beams are worth more than anything we could add. We restore first and replace last.

  2. Design for Tuesday

A home has to work on an ordinary evening, not just in photos. We ask how you cook, where the post goes and who sits where.

  3. Say the real budget

Every project shows its budget on this site. We give clear ranges early, and a fixed price before any work starts.
